Your Friday giggle. Editing Shakespeare

A very good friend of mine found this gem yesterday. I thought it would make a great Friday giggle.

Everyone needs an editor, right? This may be how Shakespeare learned brevity is the soul of wit.

Enjoy!

    1. I wish I liked fforde’s books, but I just can’t get into them. About every two or three years I try, but I just can’t get past chapter 1. I know, I know, I am missing out.

      1. Maybe not. I loved the first book in the Tuesday Next series. I went on to read the second, and noticed immediately he’d quietly changed the premise in a way actually incompatible with the first book. And the weight of the series changed from the characters in a book to Tuesday Next’s increasingly contrived adventures. I staggered on for another volume or two, admiring his cleverness, but not really liking the books that much. Then I stopped.

Either fforde was getting worse, or he wasn’t writing for a reader such as me after the first book. And maybe he was never writing for a reader such as you. Some well-respected writers leave me bored, too.
